Wireless technology is often used to monitor bodily functions and collect parameters in human or animal organisms, as it does not restrict the movements of the person/animal being monitored. This calls for special solutions, which have to meet particular technical requirements.

IK Elektronik has successfully been involved in the following projects in the fitness, wellness and medical applications field and can supply these components:

868MHz Wireless cheast-strap for measuring a person’s pulse and a suitable receiver for watches
868MHz / 915MHz wireless remote controls for dog training
2.4GHz wireless transmission network for orthopaedic measurements
Combining textiles and electronics to monitor emergency personnel (e.g. fire brigade) and measure a person’s pulse (chest strap)
Textile key pad for integration in clothing
Controlling and monitoring artificial limbs
